What you are buying
Each ebook is a PDF file that you download. You can buy any of the four books on its own, or all four together. Each book’s page in the shop shows what it covers, how many pages and chapters it has, and sample pages for some books.
The books are educational. They explain fertility, tests and treatment in general terms, and they don’t give medical advice about your own situation. Please read the medical disclaimer, and talk to your healthcare professional before you make decisions about tests or treatment.
Prices and payment
Prices are in South African Rand (ZAR) and are the full amount you pay. If you’re outside South Africa, you may see an approximate US dollar amount next to the Rand price. That is only a guide: you are charged in Rand, and your bank converts the amount and may add its own fee.
Payments go through PayFast, a South African payment gateway. You can pay by card, Instant EFT or the other methods PayFast offers at checkout. Your card details go straight to PayFast; we never see or store them.
Before you pay, the checkout shows what you are buying and the total, and you can go back to change or cancel your order. We may change our prices from time to time, but a change never affects an order you have already paid for. If a price on the site is clearly a mistake, we will contact you before your order goes through, or refund you.
Getting your ebook
As soon as PayFast confirms your payment, you will see a download link, and we email the same link to you. The email is also your record of the purchase, so please keep it.
For your security, download links stop working after a while. If your link has expired, a download fails or you lose your copy, contact us with the email address you used and we will send you a new link.
Refunds
An ebook can’t be returned once it has been downloaded. For this reason, and because the law treats ebooks as books, the seven-day cooling-off right in the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act doesn’t apply to them (section 42(2)(h)). We still offer the following:
- You haven’t downloaded it yet. Ask within 7 days of buying and we will refund you in full, for example if you bought the wrong book.
- The file doesn’t work. If it won’t download or open, or pages are missing, we will send you a working copy. If we can’t fix the problem, we will refund you in full.
- You were charged twice, or paid and got nothing. We refund the extra payment, or send your ebook, whichever you prefer.
We don’t refund an ebook that has been downloaded and works properly, for example if you change your mind after reading it.
To ask for a refund, contact us with your name, the email address you used and what you bought. Refunds go back to the way you paid. We aim to refund within 10 working days, and always within 30 days.
Using your ebook
Your ebook is for your own personal use. You can keep it on your phone, tablet and computer, print it for yourself, and print the worksheets as often as you like.
Please don’t share the file, upload it anywhere, sell it or make copies for other people. If a friend or partner would like their own copy, they can buy one in the shop. The books are protected by copyright, © Kara Raubenheimer. If you would like to use them in a clinic, a support group or for teaching, please contact us first.
Corrections and new editions
The books are checked carefully, and they reflect the evidence at the time of writing. If we correct a mistake in a book you have bought, we will email you the corrected file at no cost. A new edition with substantial new content may be sold separately.
Your information
To deliver your ebook and handle any questions or refunds, we keep your name, your email address, what you bought and PayFast’s payment reference. We keep these records for as long as the tax rules require. We don’t sell your information. Our privacy page explains more and how to ask us to delete your details.
Questions and complaints
If something isn’t right, please contact us first. We will reply within 5 working days and do our best to put it right.
If we can’t resolve your complaint, you can contact the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud or the National Consumer Commission.
The law
These terms are governed by South African law. Nothing in them takes away the rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
We may update these terms. The version on this page on the day you buy is the one that applies to your order.
